Fifth Grade
Foundation for 21st Century Skills
Our Fifth Graders are the leaders of our school, as they have traversed the halls and are able to use their wits and social skills in ways to help build our school's community. The Fifth Graders continue to sharpen their skills through rigorous academic work to prepare for their journey to middle school. To help them prepare for their transition from elementary to middle school are their educational guides, Perry Higgins and Elijah Jennette. Your Fifth Grader should expect to learn:

Skills to Practice for Fifth Grade Readiness
- Using evidence that supports the author’s main idea
- Revising, editing, and proofreading work before turning it in
- Working with multi-digit numbers (reading, writing, adding, subtracting, multiplying, etc.)
- Practicing creating a schedule of one's activities and commitments to learn time management
- Sharing and communicating ideas and feelings with others appropriately
