Second grade is a big year. Second-graders are growing leaps in bounds and starting to show more independence at school, at home, and at play. Second-grade students have longer attention spans and are mastering teamwork. Our fantastic second-grade teachers are Mary Beth Winston and Hannah Yerby. What your child needs to know

  • Ask and answer questions about a text. (Who, What, When, Where, Why, and How)
  • Identify numbers up to 120.
  • Solve word problems up to two-digit numbers.
  • Use their words when reacting to social situations and not their hands.
  • Work on a task independently.
